Dr Abbey Akinoshun
Without a degree in Law and as a cleaner, I represented myself and won my first case.
My first representation ever was over 25 years ago when I represented myself and my colleagues.
I won the case, and we were compensated. Since then, I have represented Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Assistants and put a smile on their faces.

A Little About Dr Abbey Akinoshun
Dr Abbey Akinoshun is a groundbreaking advocate and self-trained Employment and Regulatory Law Consultant with over 25 years of experience defending nurses, midwives, and healthcare professionals across the UK. Driven by his personal experience with workplace discrimination, Dr. Abbey began his career in the UK as a cleaner and won his first representation case without any formal legal training. This victory ignited his passion for justice, inspiring him to establish VEASEM, a self-funded organisation offering free legal advice to ethnic minorities and later Employment Rights Representation and Advisory Services (ERRAS).
As CEO of ERRAS, Dr. Abbey continues to champion the rights of healthcare professionals at NMC hearings, a role through which he has empowered countless individuals facing workplace discrimination. With a background in Social Psychology from the University of Sofia and Mental Health Nursing from King’s College London, Dr Abbey’s work embodies his dedication to equality, justice, and compassion. His life’s work stands as a powerful testament to his commitment to change and his unwavering belief in standing up for those in need.

As a self-trained Employment and Regulatory Law Consultant and Independent Nurse Consultant, I never attended law school nor imagined myself in the courtroom. But life has a way of guiding us to where we are most needed. My background in Psychology from Bulgaria seemed worlds apart from the work I eventually found myself called to do. READ MORE
